Nizral Cream is utilized for the treatment of specific fungal infections of the skin. The key active ingredient in Nizral Cream is Ketoconazole.
Nizral Cream is classified as an imidazole antifungal. It functions by eliminating sensitive fungi by disrupting the synthesis of the fungal cell membrane, leading to its weakening. This compromised membrane permits the leakage of cellular contents, causing the death of the fungus.
Apply Nizral Cream as prescribed by your physician. Refer to the medication label for precise dosing guidelines. Cleanse the affected area using soap and water, then dry it thoroughly. Use a sufficient amount of the cream to cover the area and gently massage it in. Avoid covering the area unless your doctor advises otherwise. Wash your hands promptly after applying Nizral Cream, unless your hands are part of the treated area.
Keep Nizral Cream away from your eyes, nose, and mouth. In the event of contact, rinse with water and reach out to your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
To fully resolve your infection, continue using Nizral Cream for the complete duration of treatment. Maintain use even if you start to feel better after a few days.
If you forget a dose of Nizral Cream, apply it as soon as you remember. If it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and resume your regular schedule. Do not apply two doses simultaneously. Consult your healthcare provider if you have any questions about how to use Nizral.
Avoid using Nizral Cream if you are allergic to any of its components. Seek immediate medical attention if any of these conditions apply to you.
Certain medical conditions might interact with Nizral Cream. Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical issues, especially if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding; if you are using any prescription or over-the-counter medications, herbal products, or dietary supplements; if you have allergies to medications, food, or other substances; if you experience low blood sugar, have liver disease, porphyria (a blood disorder), sulfite sensitivity, or consume more than three alcoholic drinks per day.
